A long time ago
I wanted to write
One poem
For each person
I know.
Whenever my friends
Read these poems
I know at least a few
Were secretly looking
For mentions
Of themselves.
How could I capture
Someone in
Just a few stanzas?
That task is impossible.
It takes more
Than a few words
To accurately describe
Any human being.
There are so many things
I love about
Every single person
I’ve ever met.
Capturing a person
In a poem
Is like stuffing the universe
Into a mason jar.
